Stairway to Heaven

First off I want to start out by saying I was having a kinda crappy morning (we are housesitting again and totally not used to dogs waking us in the night/uncomfortable beds/general pregnancy related sleeping issues) until I got me some this:
And a little bit of this:
Honestly you guys? I think I saw Blue...and he looked glorious. Talk about turning around your morning! So delicious. I'm not even the biggest fan of Pumpkin Spice (I am a true Gingerbread Latte girl), but I'm pretty sure when I opened the PSL lid little cherubs came flying out of the cup and they picked me up, and their little cherub wings carried me into my office. No joke. It was a Starbucks miracle.

And pumpkin scones are truly the eighth wonder of the world. I was watching A Baby Story yesterday, and I am positive I saw one delivering a baby. While blindfolded. The Starbucks by my work usually runs out by like 7:15 am because every man, woman and child knows how awesome these things are.

Speaking of things that make my heart go pitter-patter, I was stalking clicking around High-Heeled Foot in the Door and discovered this amazing DIY project. Adding decals to your stairs!

Directions can be found here
I'm basically 1% crafty, 99% lazy when it comes to things like this. But I seriously think I could do it. It's just stickers. And attention to detail (that will be Joel's job, duh.)
I die.

Bananas.

So major.

Literally.
(Rachel Zoe is the best at summarizing her feelings with as few words as humanly possible.)

OK so I have an absurd number of steps in my house. No joke I bet you it's somewhere in the 30ish range. We live in a townhouse and it's five levels. The stairs from the basement to foyer are carpeted, as are the stairs from the kitchen/dining room level to the bedrooms. But the stairs from foyer to living room, and living room to kitchen/dining room are hardwood. (Confusing right?) With so many stairs I think some deserve to be spruced up a bit. I mean it can't be easy bearing the weight of my fat pregnant self multiple times a day! I'll probably start with the foyer to living room staircase first, and see how it looks.

If/When I do this, I will most likely use this print:
But less blue looking, and more grey. Can you tell I really like grey?
I think this mixes with everything and is funky, without being overbearing. All I need to do now is measure the stairs and figure out how many decals I will need. And get my husband on board with having a zebra staircase. All in a days work, my friends!

-Charlie

P.S. When I start this project you can bet I will document the ENTIRE THING. Because next to giving birth (whenever that happens), this could possibly be the greatest accomplishment of my little life. Amen.

Hahaha! I love the looks of those stairs. We don't have any in our house or I might have to tackle this project as well. Which - like you said, would be the greatest accomplishment of my life. :)

LOVE THIS. Stealing the idea for the stairs... when we get stairs.

Let the countdown to March begin. Can't wait to see how yours turn out!

remember the days of attacking the local DD for GBLs?!? and the heartbreak you would experience when he said he had none... but alas! they had an extra box with your name on it! those were golden times, charbear.

OMG, if I still lived in SF with the stairs of death, this would be my first order of business this weekend. I feel like my condo association wouldn't approve if it hit up the emergency stairs with some leopard spot action.
