High: We had a great little trip-ski to Williamsburg over Columbus Day Weekend! Charlie, Mama Nixonsleeve and I were away for a girls weekend for the holiday weekend and this was a brilliant idea that really should evolve into a tradition. Fun, fun, fun. We even ran into a old friend from my high school! Small world--shout out to the Oakies!!! Here are some pics to prove we were there..and not just at the outlets. Great news there, I got some CHRISTMAS GIFTS!!(for other people) Aren't I the best?  A few people are already done on my list. I never start so early so I feel sooo good about this. 

Anyhow, we saw a lot of interesting things in Williamsburg.

Note the authentic Indians that I snapped a picture of. My hands were trembling, it was the best I could do.

 

Too bad about the hairy elbow that couldn't/wouldn't get out of the way for the pic.

Low: I dropped my iPhone on the ground on the last day in Williamsburg and the screen shattered! Booooo....

High: Got a new iPhone 4 when I got home!

Low: Lost 7 voicemails when they transferred service to the new phone. Yikes! Hope it wasn't HGTV letting me know I was finally picked for a FREE backyard/home remodeling TV show...hope that call comes this week.

High: Koenig, the 6 month old wonder dog, is much, much better following his puppy pneumonia! Hip hip hooray!!! For the loyal readers out there, you may recall...he was on antibiotics for WEEKS after his episode. 

Low: Koenig pooped on the floor of PETCO on Sunday...not cool. Like, you never think YOUR dog will actually pull that one on you. It was a 5 alarm fire in my mind and the man who worked there was like, 'why are you even telling me that' because he sooo didn't seem to mind.

High: Mr. Lulu had Friday off this past week--which made for a great weekend!

A mixed low/high at the same time:

While I was out Saturday, Koenig knocked over my favorite lamp in our den...kind of looked like this one. BUT he also texted me while I was driving home to tell me he was leaving a blank check on the table where it happened so I could replace it. Not kidding, he really did text me that.

High: 

 

Mary Kay Limited Edition Nail Color in INTENSITY. It's the dark purple color. It is SO awesome--on shorter nails filed square shape. Duh, like I have to tell you fashionable readers that. But the color is so cool--dark at first glance but such a good combination of shiny purple/ metallic. YOU WILL LOVE IT! And their colors have always been long wearing--ask anyone, they are chip resistant which is so essential with the dark colors!

just kidding 102 days is an eternity. heck, a week can do the trick in terms of shopping. we know this here at ATOTS. no one should be stressin' now. and we LOVE Christmas too.

I love to pass on shows and movies that I find hilarious. And I want you all to feel free to send me in the funny, slapstick comedy direction too.

I put a high, high premium on television that can
actually make you laugh SO hard that you cry...

Have you all tuned into Summer Heights High? It's on HBO...that's pretty much all I know at this point. Could be made in Australia? Hmm...not pos on that one.

Was writing Christmas cards while watching but now and stuck on this show!!!

Anyhow, I am trying to finish up the Christmas Gift List before the weekend! Yipppee!!! Always have more people on the list than I thought when I first set out to shop...but I am doing fine as we round the corner into the h o m e s t r e t c h---- 7 shopping days left. Oh yeah.

Command decision: I am going to make the Gingerbread House with my brother's kiddies when we go to Ft Bragg. I haven't told them yet but I KNOW it'll be more fun with the kids!! And I will get pics then---

excuses, excuses

Been busy!! To say the least. I know all of the other fabulous bloggers in blogger-land are busy too so I am here today to sheepishly announce that MY busy-ness trumps everyone elses.

SIKE. Not true at all.

But I DO love the running around during the holiday season---the cold weather, the excuse to bake, the celebration of the nativity and my beautiful Christmas Tree!!! Has anyone seen Bill O'Reilly sells bumper stickers that say "We Say Merry Christmas"--LOVE them!! I am out "Merry Christmas-ing" anyone and everyone....in the true holy spirit of the season....sticking it to those PC types;)

So, on the agenda (at least for me) is Gingerbread House making...and I KNOW that Charlie is always up for a good project like this:

It's been too long since I've dabbled in the candy/cookie home construction biz so it's a top priority this month...I mean, these are the type of skills I need to work on BEFORE I have kids, no? That way, once they are born and are running around--I am already an all-powerful supermom who is capable of everything. The way I see it is that every year that goes by that I skip these essential traditions, I get rustier and rustier----and I don't want to be inept at ANY mom tasks when the time comes. Ha!

On a very lovely note....my man, Mr. Lulu was a total sweetheart and gave NO resistance to my holiday travel plans this year

---so we're heading south to North Carolina...Ft. Bragg to be exact to see my big brother and his family for Christmas! Yippee!!! The past TWO Christmas', he was in Iraq--so we're thrilled to have him here and he and his lovely wife have three kids so that'll be fun. Do any of ya'll have issues with where to spend Christmas---with his family or yours? Ugghhh...my least fav part of the whole season is this debate. So cliche....but so very very true.

10 days and counting...so that's 9 full shopping days. Enjoy, sweet people!! See you out there!!

pretty nice little Saturday

Soooo, just keeping it real, who doesn't love a rainy, shopping Saturday? In and out of the stores searching and hunting for a GREAT DEAL??

Enter exhibit A:

There is a small section in the back of the store much akin to HomeGoods. You know, where you can find "something for nothing that looks expensive". Just grab a cart and make a beeline for the back of the store without passing go and collecting $200 dollars. Ha. Seriously, try not to run people over as you move out smartly.

I search there for curtain rods and pillows and sheets and other various items. Today, Charlie and I had a few excellent finds!!

OK-the on the left is a fabulous Franklin Covey blue polka dot planner. Charlie has 12 organized months ahead of her and that spells smooth sailing. For $8.99, who wouldn't set goals and schedule success? Yippee!! You KNOW the planner in the Franklin Covey store would be $50-$100. Every time I ever went in there it was a cool $100 and I seem to switch planners every 120 days anyway.

On the right is a set of ipod speakers that run without batteries!! You just plug them into your ipod and they work--amazing. Plus, they're pink. Anddddddddd.....for $6.99, who would be without good music while showering? I mean, I ask you.

One one of the aisles, I saw a small black flask. Yes, a flask with rhinestones on it to make it extra special. I jokingly said to Charlie that she might need to grab it and she quickly responded that she "already had a flask." A pink glittery one. Duh.

Enter Exhibit B:

Of course. It's the ritual end to a shopping trip. So, we got the new

Starbucks Salted Caramel Signature Hot Chocolate and it was amazing!!

Under no circumstances would it be appropriate to investigate how many calories are in this delicious delight, but suffice to say that it'll be ONE per season and I will look back on our time together fondly.

Finally, it is worth noting that Charlie and I spent the EXACT same amount of $ today at Ross. Charlie bought the two above items and I grabbed two curtain rods. We both spent $16.78 exactly and the items weren't all the same price--obvi. How weird is that?
Must mean good luck ;)
